Westfield's 1834 founding by Quaker settlers predates the automobile by decades, but almost none of that era's building stock survives into the town's current housing — Westfield's real growth, and nearly all of its garage stock, came recently, driven by the Grand Park sports campus and the subdivisions built up around it.
