Garage Stock Built Across a Fort's Rise, Peak, and Closure
Fort Benjamin Harrison shaped Lawrence's growth for most of the 20th century — established in 1904, expanded through the Army Finance Center's 1953 opening, and eventually closed, returning about 70% of its acreage to the public as Fort Harrison State Park. Housing built during the fort's earliest years often predates the standard attached garage, while homes from its later expansion years were built with garages as a given.
The Widest Range in the Service Area
We see some of the widest range of garage configurations in Lawrence of any town we serve, simply because the town's housing spans so many distinct construction periods.
